Navigating Imperfectiion (As An Artist)
Whoa. So lemme make sure I’m understanding correctly; he ruined his career …. for Yes Juelz (however you spell that lady name 🤷🏽♀️) I hope they still friends cause if they not … damn. Tragic.
Skipped to chapter 3
this video is fire
Daniel Caesar made an awful decision to chastise an entire community and to defend someone who deserved all the criticism she got. None of us is obligated to care at all about Daniel Caesar (or whatever his real name is). This man made a whole career using a genre created by the very community he told to shut up and cancel him. We always get disrespected. I don't feel sorry for him and I don't think he was unnecessarily canceled. And yes he should continue to feel sorry for what he did so he won't make the same mistake over and over again. I think he's learned since then. But I don't think the people STILL making excuses for him and talking sht about the folk who "canceled" him have matured at all.
Who?
Album lowkey mid
I saw Daniel perform on the Berkeley campus back in 2023. That performance still lives rent free in my mind! He’s a true musician. He played multiple instruments and the mic was definitely on!! The crowd was so hyped and sang every. Single. Word. To every song! I was one of few black people there. I never cancelled him but I didn’t like what he said either. Best of luck to him. Excited to see him perform again at Outsidelands in SF ⭐️ 🌴
25:55 I hate the term "cancel culture" lol. If you say something your supporters dont like, they'll stop supporting you. And you'll lose opportunities. It's literally always been like that. It just happens more often now because celebrities talk publicly more often because of the internet
This video was fucking inspiring and amazing. Good work kid. Keep being you.
Ok…. ya’ll need to quit trippin,’ almost got a tear out of my eye on this one.
Wow great analysis. Kendrick is a literal genius and so are you!
15:53 "FROOTYENN"
Long ass intro lol
they only get longer 💀
Not them caping for him. They have no backbone
I’m sorry but more African Americans need to keep these foreign black people in check. It’s honestly ridiculous how entitled and how much they act like a know it all in this country.
They screw us over with that shit and gaslight
Yea but we as American blacks will always find a way to accept the nonsense regardless as you saw in the video with the girl,” and I really hope he does that because he deserves that.” We are resisting it as much as we can but they are slowly teaching us to be like the black foreigners that hate themselves( us )and praise/protect everybody else. That’s why they give black people platforms and have them tell us to stop worrying about what we are facing in our country and worry about what’s happening in every other country. Or tell us how we should allow other people to tell us whatever or do us whatever and be okay with it. Only time will tell how it will all play out but seeing the drake vs Kendrick had me happy because I thought it would be more of us 30 and under black people siding with the guy who only wears his blackness when he can profit while also taking as much from our culture as he can over the guy who is us and has proudly repped us his whole career. But many of those same people who were riding with our culture will go right back to having drake as their favorite rapper. I told a friend of mine who is a drake fanboy( he black too😂😂 )that while he’s looked at their battle as rapper vs. rapper, it’s really about drake vs black culture. He never once asked throughout the back in forth why do you look at it like this or am I missing something.( as I knew he wouldn’t ) He said well I’m not into all that but yea drake lost. Only time will tell but at least right now most of us ain’t going for the b.s
Who else is here after "Not Like Us ??"
Canada is a suburbs of america.
Lmao hes Canadian what did you expect.
beautiful video
Got cancelled before he dropped a mf beautiful album. Truly unfortunate
This man really was a genius. I never knew it until you explained the methods of his recordings. Makes me doubt I can do anything substantial with music I wanna make in the future, but I know that’s just a lie. Regardless, it is truly genuine, authentic, honest music that Frank had made. It’s only recently I’m listening to his music too. I know I know I’m late sorry, but I’m glad I did. Thank you for this video dude. Your vid’s are very nice and informative and it has soul compared to the other channels that just recite and/or expose someone lol. Yahuwah(God) bless you bro :)
there’s so much other artists out there that need to be “cancelled” and y’all ignore. I fw daniels music idgaf
I love how thoughtful and lovely your videos are! I know you're gaining popularity now (💐💐💐) so you might not see this, but would you consider doing a lengthier version of this vid? Your channel orange and blond/e videos were magnificent, and it would be so cool to see how you approach this mixtape in the longer format approach you've taken to. Anyhow, this channel is truly something special. I cannot wait to see how you evolve over time!
The new album is fire 🔥 I won’t let an artist stupidity keep me from actual good music 😂 I never stopped listening. Good music is hard to come by sorry. He was also fantastic in concert this past year, the mic 🎤 was on. 🤷🏽♀️ I can’t believe he let some rando culture vulture help ruin his career. I’m mad at him. I really hope this wasn’t the reason he didn’t stay as an independent artist.

Bastard She Domo23 Smuckers Pothole New Magic Wand Lumberjack
he’s not fucking cancelled. he is right too. dude literally just asking for equality of thought, to not find certain hate acceptable. yall stupid asf
Ah learn from white supremacy is what he was right about? Lmao ok
He was selling out arenas during his cancelled time so... How cancelled was he really?
He had a few amazing songs and the rest were very mid.
I rarely pay attention to what artists do and say outside the studio because I find them grossly ill-informed or just plain dumb. Fruedian is one of my fav albums of all time and I find it difficult to reconcile my love for the music with my distaste for the person. Idk how to feel now lol
Wow bro I look at this album at a whole different angle now
The black man's kryptonite will do it every time. 😂
Fix your microphone ;)
Honestly I jumped on the TTC train late, but now that I'm on it, I honestly am glad I'm here. This video is insightful and truthfully Tyler is the underrated genius of his community. Igor really made me "listen" to albums fully again. And it really made me think, " is he talking about ASAP?" Lol I know he isn't but you never know...
He meant what he said. He believes it. Canadian air got him. Let Julz and all those "winners" put him in the honorary winner's circle like he felt that night he asked to be canceled...such disrespect for his Black fans worldwide and the ones that counted the MOST..Black Americans. If I heard that response as his parent, I would have been so embarrassed....this coming from a 60 y.o. woman. He's a Tom...a young Tom.
What an impressive video. Great work.
Our community will set you straight. We do not tolerate 🦝
Wow🙏🏾
Self hate, we must unteach it….he clearly hates himself …..sad really…NEXT
you sound unbearably stupid
@@mr.bluesman9879 Nah, you sound stupid goofy.
The Malcolm X reference was spot on! Also, now that we see all these “idles “that we’re pumping them up, I’m not shocked that they didn’t support him when he was falling. They were probably using them also.
I can tell a Pharrell Williams beat with no tag.
What did the girl at the very end say?!
That’s what he gets now let the YT people save him, they won’t cause they don’t like his skin color but apparently he loves theirs
This is so good ty! So much care went into this ❤❤❤
But y'all gonna let Drake stay in the charts *eyeroll* I wish we could maintain this energy for them all
Draaakeee in my Soulja Boy voice! Boo, Dear Heart, Dumpling black folk are not major Drake supporters haven’t been for a while. Hell KDOT just let the world in on the secret and listed the top reasons why.
He has white fans and use rappers that black people for his music to get us to listen 😂 that got nothing to do with us
@hungrychat7304 my childhood bestie(black as black can be) is still riding for Drake 😬😭 he legit even changed his social media tags to be something like "Drakeisgod" I can't remember but tbh didnt surprise me because he's been a die hard fan since the jump. Like all his snap stories have Drake music in them. Like I kid you the fuck not. So I've been keeping an eye on him to see if his position changed but it hasn't 🤣 funny thing is, I'm very white passing(hispanic mutt) and Kendrick has been my favorite rapper since 2011 because he was on the Divergent soundtrack. His song with Tame Impala oh my God. Art.
